    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: rebbmoss Surnames: Lang Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.missouri.counties.pemiscot/1759/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Could someone do a cemetery lookup for Emma Lee Lang? She may be buried in Maple or Little Prairie Cemetery. She was born Dec 25, 1892 and died July 24, 1918. I think I have Emma's death certificate but there is some incorrect information given such as her mother's name. Emma's mother, Carrie Ezell and stepfather, Frank Ezell, are buried at Maple. I hope to find a newspaper obit or records from the cemetery to clear the info up and maybe shed some more facts of her death. The informant was Robert Lang, her husband I believe, of Deering, MO. The undertaker was J.R. Lewis of Caruthersville. Does anyone know what funeral home he worked at? Supposably Emma's husband was dying in the 1940's or 1950's, and sent word for Emma's son, my grandpa, to come see him. He admitted to grandpa that he had killed Emma with a hatpin through her head, because she was leaving him. I have been searching for years for this husband's surname to find Emma's grave and death info, and lucked out by scouring the Missouri State Archive's Online Death Certs. Emma's middle name is Lee and the birth date is correct, as well as the approximate date of death I had. The Cause OF Death says, "Fell dead in floor. Don't know of any excuse". So maybe the legend is true. I don't believe that Robert Lang was a long time resident of Pemiscot County. Does anyone have knowledge of Lang families in Pemiscot? Thanks so much for any help or advice, Rebecca Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I'm also in the process of looking for obits for family members (without much luck so far). The State Historical Society of Missouri has a website listing the newspapers they have on microfilm. Here's the link: http://shs.umsystem.edu/newspapercatalog/catalogmap.shtml I've been told the Dunklin Democrat is one of the better papers to search.
