If it's just obits I would go to the Historical Society in Columbia Mo. They have newspapers for all counties in Missouri. They also have a research room for other research. If you want family info other than obits I would probably go to the actual county and do your research there. Or you can go tot he State Archives in Jefferson City. They have microfilm for the state. It depends on the county how much they have and the dates you are looking for. You might check out their websites to determine if they have what you are looking for. I believe you have clarified things for me before. I am so grateful for your information. Because of your information I have just looked up John Robinson and his marriage to Bertha Williams and found it under Robertson. I never considered Bertha being married to anyone else but Earl. It seems strange why I was never told. The lines I am following are Fitzgerald, Ledbetter, Pullam and Williams. I wonder how we are related? My grand parents are Earl and Bertha. I will try to answer from memory. Earl & Bertha (Williams)Ledbetter were indeed married in 1910. I believe they had one daughter who later died. They did divorce and Bertha married John Robinson in Pemiscot County Missouri. They had one son, Elvis. They also divorced and she remarried Earl Ledbetter, I think around 1917. Which family line are you researching? I may have other information that may be of help. I am working on the Williams and Pullam line. On the same census page are Bertha's parents - Clarence and Georgia Williams. Clarence and Georgia are living with four of their children and son-in-law John Robinson. John Robinson is born about 1873 in Illinois and is a widower. >From this I assume Bertha had an affair with John Robinson because she married Earl Ledbetter in 1910. I am assuming John Robinson is the father to Elivish C Robinson. How is it possible for John Robinson to be son-in-law to Clarence and Georgia Williams? Can anyone answer this and does anyone have any information or ancesters of this Robinson family? Many thanks Ame Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
