    1. Re: [MOPemiscot] Forward: Wardell Cemetery
    2. Mary, Do you have some dates of death for your Crider and Keown grandparents? Will try to find something for you in the Archives here in Jeff City. Unfortunately, with no tombstone, there is no inscription to record. A funeral home in Wardell might have a record. Carolyn

    3. Hi Group, I have this question from Mary... Could you answer both of us?!!! Thanks, Marsha From: MOBelle@aol.com To: iammbk@nc.rr.com Sent: Friday, November 01, 2002 10:09 AM Subject: Pemiscot Marsha, My Crider grandarents are buried in Wardell. My grandfather I am told does not have a marker. He is buried in the cemetery that some farmer donated to wardell for this purpose. I am told will be unable to locate site because of this. my grandmother is buried in what was described as the new cemetery and does have a marker. Would appreciate what is known about crider and Keown buried in wardell. Thanks Mary

    3. Hi Group, Just to let you know, Billie Powell submitted names in Little Prairie and Maple cemeteries and also an obituary! Thanks Billie! If you have information to add, please send it to me. I'm talking to a few people about volunteering to do lookups in the county. If you have books, census records, anything that you would volunteer to do lookups from, please let me know. Pemiscot needs lookup volunteers!!! Thanks & happy hunting! Find the links on "What's New" or in the Cemetery & Deaths section of the web. Marsha Marsha's Pemiscot Web http://us-gen.org/mo/pemiscot

My brother's son Brandon was surfuring the web and found your entry. My father was James Albert Mathenia - your father's brother. I have been trying to research the Mathenia name but have not gotten very far either. My Aunt Tommie who lives in Steele Mo got me the name of one of the relatives. I believe her name is Earlene who still lives in Steele but I have not contacted her yet. According to Katie, Buster had 14 Siblings. She could only remember a few - James, Tom, Luther, Aunt Babe, and an Aunt Dollie Ledford. I'm heading back to Memphis tomorrow for an Uncle's furneral but will be back next week. Please send me an email at ikem@erols.com and tell me about your family. I have not seen any of you since Dad's furneral over 30 years ago.

    2. Mike Laws
    3. While we're talking about surnames.I'm still hunting for information about my great-grandfather: Newton C. LAWS. He was born 6-11-1870 supposedly in Pemiscott County. By 1880 (census) he was living with a MEATTE family in New Madrid County and that's where he stayed the rest of his life. I haven't been able to find his ancestry in either county so far. Any clues would be appreciated. I'm also looking at ESSARY's in that area. Thanks. Mike Laws St. Louis, MO

    1. [MOPemiscot] What's New on Marsha's Pemiscot Web
    2. Marsha Bryant
    3. Hi Group, Just to let you know, lots of new surnames have been added to the "Surname" page. If you want your surnames there, all you have to do is email me. Also, a couple of updated addresses have been added on the "Addresses" page. Billie Powell sent in some information about the Eastwood Memorial Cemetery and a couple of children buried there. You don't have to have entire cemetery listings (although that would be great!), just send what you have! The "First Families" section is a place that I can post your family tree if you have an ancestor in Pemiscot. If you'd like your family tree on a page with your email address attached, all you need to do is send it to me in an email. I'll also post the old pictures that you've scanned to the page! When you send me the information, make sure that you don't include anyone born after 1920. I don't post any information after that date, it's just too dangerous. If you have a website that has Pemiscot ancestors, you can send me the address and I'll add it to the "Personal Genealogy Sites of Pemiscot Ancestors". This way, people can come to visit your site. Please submit any information you have about Pemiscot ancestors, even if it seems very small. It might just break down that "Brick Wall" that someone has been trying to scale for years! If you walk through a Pemiscot cemetery to visit your ancestors graves, write down a couple of the names & dates of the oldest tombstones you see on your way that aren't related to you! Help me make this web a great place to find information! By helping others, we help ourselves! Thanks, Marsha Bryant Marsha's Pemiscot Web http://us-gen.org/mo/pemiscot
