They lived in Scott County at the time of the 1850 census but I believe they moved to the Portageville area after 1850. Their children were Louis (b. abt 1840), Eliza (b. abt 1845), George (b. abt 1848), and Napolean (b. abt 1850). I believe William Franklin Young was also born into this family about 1855.

Surnames: Holland Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/EMB.2ACE/629 Message Board Post: Would anyone know where I might obtain detailed maps of Pemiscot County during the 1860 and 1870 census reports. I need ones showing the census districts and post offices of that time. Also, how to interpret census data such as Cottonwood Pt. Township 17N, R11E? Do the numbers refer to a grid of some sort and help locate the location of the census area, or are they a lot number reference in a township? Any help would be appreciated and I will be more than happy to purchase the maps.

    1. Re: [MOPemiscot] Hayti Funeral Homes and Newspapers
    2. Denise Merideth Perry
    3. You might try the German Funeral Home in Hayti. I'm pretty sure they were there at that time. If they weren't they may be able to direct you to whom you would need to talk to. The newspapaer would be the Democrat Argus - and it was located in Caruthersville at that time. They may now have their office in Blytheville, Ark. Hope this helps. 3. From an old cemetery book I show a Lincoln Parkinson , Apr 28, 1894 - Dec 24, 1964 in the Maple Cemetery listings. None of the other Parkinson's were listed This may be the one she is talking about. The Little Prairie Cemetery is next to it as well.
