Jean I had to get out my source material to answer your question. There was a notice of my grandmas death in the Ozark Co Times but I got the information from The State Historical Society of Missouri. Their address is 1020 Lowry St , Columbia , Missouri, 65201-7298. Phone # is 573-882-7083 e-mail is shsofmo@umsystem.edu website http://www.system.missouri.edu/shs fax: 573-884-4950 The fee was very small. Back in the early 1900 obits were listed in among other notices. In my Grandmas case their was a notice of someone returning from a trip just befor her obit and just after her obit was a notice of a sale. So unlike today the researcher must scan the entire paper, It will be helpful if you can give the Historical Society as much info as possible. ANd in Grandmas case it just mentioned she was the wife of Jess Bennett , didn`t even give her name. Hope this helps--good luck -- Donna
