I would appreciate any connection you can provide me with to the story. I have within the past year published several local history books, and I understand what you are saying about the folklore or legend that gets inter-twined into our history. Sometimes a little legend adds to the story, but I try to make the story as factual as possible. Again, Thanking you in advance for your help Bill Blevins From: "Ray and Rita Durham" <rita@gorge.net> Date: 2002/08/01 Thu PM 05:06:31 CDT To: MOOZARK-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [MOOZARK] RE: Ray/Rita Durham Hi Bill, This is only family folklore handed down generation to generation in the family who bought Richard's farm in Douglas Co MO. I can certainly give you the name and email address of the person who gave me this. Though family folklore, it does make sense. Richard was one of 11 children born to Howell and Lucy Durham. They moved to Ozark Co MO from Hall Co GA and were very much for the south. Two other brothers died in the war also. I believe one of the others died in Howell Co. Julie PS...I will get that email for you! ----- Original Message ----- From: <billblevins@cox-internet.com> To: <MOOZARK-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, August 01, 2002 2:44 PM Subject: [MOOZARK] RE: Ray/Rita Durham > > > I am collecting Civil War Stories of the Ozarks to be published in my third volume of " The Evil That Men Do". I have just recently published the first two volumes. I would appreciate the story and particulars surrounding the death/murder of Richard you mention if this would be possible. > > Thanks, > > Bill Blevins > > > From: "Ray and Rita Durham" <rita@gorge.net> > Date: 2002/08/01 Thu AM 11:55:02 CDT > To: MOOZARK-L@rootsweb.com > Subject: Re: [MOOZARK] Willieam E.
