My 2 cents worth --Just a reminder here -- as you may already realize -- many things on census records were incorrect, so I assume that you have other records besides the census showing the place and date of birth. On the 1900 census in Douglas Co., MO it shows my grandfather as being 10 years old and born in 1889. His mother was only born in 1880. He was actually born in 1899 and only 1 year old at the time of the census. Also have many other family members who's place of birth and parents place of birth on the census record does not match other documents I have found. It's good to gather data from as many sources as possible and keep an open mind when assimilating it. It often tells a different story than we have first been led to believe.
