    3. I would like to reference two emails on the list and add some info. from people who live near there. Message #1 is probably talking about the Souder Cafe. Home of the Hog Head Special. It used to be the Souder Store and now it is the Souder Cafe. They have music probably every weekend. There is also Porter's Cafe which is the next stop on the right south of Spurlock's store at Squires. They play music there occasionally. Message #2 is just so true!! It is called Squires Mall by the locals here. You can find about anything you want there. Kinda like Wal Mart. Clothes, farm supplies, shoes, coats, groceries, dishes, feed, garden seed, garden plants grown by a lady who has a greenhouse near there and takes cuttings of her plants plus grows them from seed. Reference Messages: Message #1: I haven't been there, but I do know from people that go every weekend that there is a restaurant there and they have old-time music parties there. I think it may be every weekend. I guess they really get large crowds Message #2 I went to the Squires store once back in the 80's. It was like a mini Walmart and an old time 5 & 10 store. Everything imaginable... piled high to the ceiling. I had a field day looking at everything. I don't know if it is still like that. I have passed it a lot going to Gainesville to visit family, but never stopped again. (From what I have always been told a man named Squires had a cabin/land an everyone was stopping to see if he had some extra this an thats so he opened a store. If you had the time you could find it if you dug long enough.I bought an Cast Iron skillet for 2 $ in the 70's an Bass Pro had the lighter newer version for 26$.)
