One of the 3 lines I have from Ozark Co is the family of Benjamin Franklin Watts, Sr born 1823 TN. He moved to Ozark Co in the 1870's. By his first wife Nancy E. Robinson he had Mary Ellen Watts b 1851 married Swanee Baxter and Benjamin F. Watts Jr b 1856 married Flora Ann Thompson. By his second wife Elizabeth Rhoda Miller he had Cora Etta b 1861 married Albert D. Thomason/Thompson, Sarah Henry b 1865 married James T. White, Mary Susan b 1868 married a Vinson, Robert E. Lee b 1873 married Serenia E. Shrum 1896 (my grandparents) and Thomas Jefferson b 1884 married Abigail DeBoard. I have very little information on this family but believe all children were married in Ozark Co. I haven't been able to find a death date or place for Benjamin and Elizabeth and the family says they died in Ozark Co. They are listed on the 1880 census Bridges Township. Would appreciate hearing from anyone who has knowledge of these people. Thanks for any help! Looking for any information on the above families in Ozark Co. I have found some information on the 1910 census, Bayou Township. People I am specifically looking for are: Ella Lawyer, married Robert Mitchell. Had 3 known children: Hiram, Marion (m), and Delpha Adeline. Delpha was living with a Hensley family in 1910, listed as a cousin. Who are the Hensley's?? She was listed as Delpha Fields. She would have married Abraham (Abe) Fields sometime circa 1909-1910. Does anyone know or have information on the marriage? Abraham is listed with his father and brother in Ozark Co. Census, west Bayou Twp., 1900. I have been unable, so far to find the Robert Mitchell family, although there are quite a few Mitchells listed in the census's. Who was Ella Lawyer's parents? Quite a few Lawyers are also listed. Any help from anyone who may have Census Index for 1900, 1910, 1920 or earlier, would be very much appreciated. Does anyone have an Ozark Co. marriage index, as well? Delpha and Abraham Fields are my husband's grandparents, and the only record I had found, was the 1930 . Springfield, Greene Co. Mo., Campbell Twp. census. Thank you for any help! Wilma Fields
If there are any Sullins researchers out there could you email me and let me know if you have any info on Margaret, Daughter of Rueben and Nancy Jane Sullins of Texas and Pulanski County, Missouri. Margaret married my David Blankenship. Any info on her would be helpful in completing his line. Waynesville is in Pulaski County, Missouri From: "Misty Wright" <Searchin4Blankenship@kc.rr.com> Reply-To: MOOZARK-L@rootsweb.com To: MOOZARK-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [MOOZARK] Eunice Mize of Texas or Greene County Date: Fri, 4 Jul 2003 15:42:42 -0500 Happy Fourth to everyone! I was wondering if anyone out there knew or know Eunice Mize of Waynesville? She was the daughter of my late great Uncle, Ernest Blankenship. He died Oct of 2002, so the info is pretty recent. If Waynesville isn't in texas or greene county, please let me know! I am trying to get into contact with her to see if she may have information about her grandparents, or even pictures (I can only dream :). Also, I would like to share what I have found about our family with her. If anyone could help, I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you! I was looking through my census, tallying what I had and what I needed and noticed that in 1920 & 1930 (both Texas County, Boone Twp) William Albert Blankenship (b. abt. 1919, MO) was living with David Blankenship, wife Margaret (Sullins) & family. William "albert" (as hes refered to on 1920 census), then in 1930 David, Margaret and William A. (albert) & George Jackson (born 1929, another grandson of David) are living with David & Margaret's son James Calvin Blankenship. If I haven't confused you already, is there anyone out there researching or related to this line? Do these names sound familar to anyone? There are some questions I would like to ask. I would like to reference two emails on the list and add some info. from people who live near there. Message #1 is probably talking about the Souder Cafe. Home of the Hog Head Special. It used to be the Souder Store and now it is the Souder Cafe. They have music probably every weekend. There is also Porter's Cafe which is the next stop on the right south of Spurlock's store at Squires. They play music there occasionally. Message #2 is just so true!! It is called Squires Mall by the locals here. You can find about anything you want there. Kinda like Wal Mart. Clothes, farm supplies, shoes, coats, groceries, dishes, feed, garden seed, garden plants grown by a lady who has a greenhouse near there and takes cuttings of her plants plus grows them from seed. Reference Messages: Message #1: I haven't been there, but I do know from people that go every weekend that there is a restaurant there and they have old-time music parties there. I think it may be every weekend. I guess they really get large crowds Message #2 I went to the Squires store once back in the 80's. It was like a mini Walmart and an old time 5 & 10 store. Everything imaginable... piled high to the ceiling. I had a field day looking at everything. I don't know if it is still like that. I have passed it a lot going to Gainesville to visit family, but never stopped again. (From what I have always been told a man named Squires had a cabin/land an everyone was stopping to see if he had some extra this an thats so he opened a store. If you had the time you could find it if you dug long enough.I bought an Cast Iron skillet for 2 $ in the 70's an Bass Pro had the lighter newer version for 26$.)
Thanks Ed Phyllis

There are several cemeteries around Thornfield. My great uncle Dean Wallace has transcribed several of them and those records are available on the internet. I used to have a URL for the cemetery IN Thornfield, but I seem to have lost it somehow (in other words it has an online web site). I have a number of relatives buried there. You can buy the Turnbo Books online and they are well worth the investment. Especially if you are doing genealogy research in Ozark, Taney, MO and Marion, AR. I found them online on my birthday and it was the BEST present I got...:-) LOUISE
