Phyllis, Rachel, Thank you for the help. It looks as dear Robert was not in Missouri when the 1900 Census was taken. If the Index for Mo. is every name, could someone please find where a Delpha A. Mitchell, b. Feb. 14, 1891 in Mo. might have been living in 1900? Thank you so very much ! Hi Marie We looked in the 1860 census. We do not find any Simpsons listed in Ozark Co. There are some 259 listings (households, or odd names within a household) listed for all of Missouri. Perhaps Jasper was in his parents household, but that would have to be in a different county. Do you have any suggestions of where that might be? Dear list members, I just joined this list after finding my great grandfather JASPER SIMPSON in the 1870 Ozark Co. MO census. Jasper is listed in the township of Bridges. Could someone tell me where Bridges was located? Also if anyone has access to the 1860 census for Ozark Co. MO could you please look for any SIMPSON? Does anyone have marriages or deaths for Ozark CO from 1860-1879. Would appreciate all the help I can get. Marie
Phyllis,I need the census on the Trump Families. Please Patsy Maness Edgar
Thanks for the additional info, but please bear with me. Once in awhile I take on the census records of Genology.com because they have the 1900 and 1910 Census indexed. However their service leaves more than a great deal to be desired and I really don't mind letting anyone know about that. Perhaps tomorrow I will be able to download the records a bit better than I could tonight. :::))) Best Phyllis
Phyllis, Thank you! If I know where any of the Robert Mitchells are, I could look at Ancestry's (which are not indexed). This has been a big high brick wall for years, and I just recently found out that Ozark Co. was where my Mitchells were. Delpha lived and died in Springfield, Greene Co. and 2 of her brothers were in West Plains according to Delpha's Funeral Home Record. I have found Robert's parents in 1860 Alabama, 1870 Kentucky, 1880 Ozark Co. some of his siblings in 1900 Ozark Co. They were in Bayou Twp. and some of the family are buried at the Mitchell/Price Cemetery at Udall, Ozark Co. MO. by 1910, Delpha was in the household of a John T.S. Hensley, and her brother, Marion was living with one of Roberts' brothers. Robert has been hard to find, other than his land record dated Aug. 21, 1900 in Ozark Co. The Census was taken in June, 1900, I believe. I appreciate you looking for me. If it is easier just to send me the County and Twp of each of the 17 Robert Mitchells, I can look for them. It would take me forever to go through the Mo 1900 Census a page at a time, but narrowing it down to 17 locations would be an enormous help to me. Thank you again! Wilma, I did not find a Robert Mitchell in Ozark Co. There were 19 Robert Mitchell's in Missouri. Do you have a birth state and approx birth year? If you can let me know I will check again. Rachel
There are quite a few Robert Mitchell's indexed through out Mo but none in Ozark county in the 1900 or 1910 Census. Do you know his birthstate and the apprx age he would have been in 1900. Could elimiate a few possibilities. Phyllis
Phyllis, Robert Y. Mitchell was born abt. 1866 in Illinois. He is listed in the 1880 Ozark Co. Census, Bayou Twp. with his parents and some of his siblings. He bought 150+ acres in Ozark Co. on Aug. 21, 1900, but believed he and Ella both died before 1910. Apparantly someone has decided it would be cute to send out material of a pornographic nature using my e-mail addressas the sender. This was not from me, so please , don't block my address, and know that I am very upset. I am awaiting instructions on how to handle this. Wilma Fields wfields@cox-intrnet.com
Ozark and Douglas County have lots of common families so I wanted you to get this message. I have an extra copy (in new condition) of the book: Douglas County History & Families - 1857-1995. I just placed it on eBay and the auction will end next Thursday morning (October 23). It is sales item number 2958255778 and my seller name is 'ozarkuncle'. If you have any questions, please let me know. I'm starting the bidding off at $50 which was my original cost, as I recall.
