Obituary , Jefferson City News Tribune, Jefferson City, Missouri, Jan. 13, 1998: "Marvin Anthony "Frog" Bax, 65, St. Martins, died Sunday. He was born December 6, 1932 in Freeburg, a son of Dr. August H and Christine Schulte Bax. He was married July 14, 1962, in Minneapolis, to Pamela Ann Lemke, who survives at the home. A graduate of Freeburg High School, he was a Navy veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars. He retired in 1971 as a chief petty officer after serving 20 years as a hospital corpsman in the submarine service. He was a member of St. Martin Catholic Church, St. Martin's VFW Post 35, Roscoe Enloe American Legion Post 5 and the Fleet Reserve Association. Other survivors include: one daughter, Kathryn Kay Bax, Centertown; one brother, Remus Bax, Tipton. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Martin Catholic Church. The Rev. Edwin A Schmidt will officiate. Burial will be in St. Martin Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the church. Memorials are suggested to St. Martin Catholic Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home."
