Obit., mid-Missouri newspaper, 1977: "Lawrence Anton Wilde, 80, of Westphalia, died Saturday ( July 23, 1977) at St. Mary's Health Center. He was born July 20, 1897, in Westphalia, the son of Bernard and Thresa Johannesmeyer Wilde. He was married to Elizabeth Kremer. Mr. Wilde was a member of St. Joseph Church and was employed as a carpenter and painter. Other survivors include: Two daughters, Mrs. Edna Borgmener, Mrs. Dorothy Maasen, both of Westphalia; two brothers, Joseph Wilde, Westphalia; and Agathon Wilde, St. Louis; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Services were held Tuesday in St. Joseph Church in Westphalia, the Rev. Peter Walsh officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery."
