Obit., mid-Missouri newspaper: "Matt J. Brester, 80, of Folk, died Friday afternoon ( March 10, 1972) at a Jefferson City hospital. Mr. Brester, a retired farmer, had been in ill health for the past two years. Mr. Brester was born Sept. 20, 1891 at Westphalia, the son of John and Antonia Rotter Brester. He was never married. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Folk. Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Anna Kaupp, West Point, Nebr.; and Mrs. Arthur Cassmeyer, Folk. Funeral services will be held Monday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Folk, with the Rec. Hugh Behan officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery."
