Obit., mid-Missouri newspaper: " Severine William Balkenbush, 54, of Westphalia, died Monday ( Dec. 6, 1971) at a Jefferson City hospital following an illness of one month. Mr. Balkenbush was born Jan. 8, 1917, the son of Anton and Anna Wilde Balkenbush. He was never married. Survivors include: his mother, Mrs. Anna Balkenbush, Westphalia; and one sister, Mrs. Hilda Sonnen, Jefferson City. Mr. Balkenbush was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic church, Westphalia, where services will be held Friday, with the Rev. John Dignan officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Mr. Balkenbush was also a member of the Holy Name Sodality and the Knights of Columbus, council No. 1171. The rosary will be recited Wednesday at the Dulle Funeral Home, Westphalia."
