Vienna Home Adviser obituary 14 August 1924 IN MEMORIAM Mrs. Catherine Werschai died in her home at Folk Thursday, Aug. 7, 1924 Deceased was born in Germany March 1834, hence she had passed her 90th milestone. At the age of 6, she came to this country. In her 19th year she was married to Mr. Francis Hy Schwartze. The Schwartzes had four children--Mrs. Geo. (Mary) Blanke(in Dakota), Francis (of Vienna), Henry (dead about 30 years), and one died in infancy. In 1864 the widow Catherine Schwartze was married to the late Henry Reker. The Rekers had one child, John (now living at Folk). In 1867 Mr. Reker died. In 1868 the widow Catherine Reker was married to the late Geo. Werschai. The Werschais were blessed with 5 children--Mrs. Casper (Anna) Koehn (of Folk), George and Joseph died in infancy, Mrs. Frank (Elizabeth) Baumhoer (near Folk), Stephen Werschai (of Folk). Mrs. Werschai was blessed with good health and was able to do her own housework up to within one year of her demise. The remains of Mrs. Werschai were laid to rest Friday 8th inst. after a Requiem High Mass by the Pastor Father Richarz in the St. Anthony's Parish Cemetery. A large attendance witnessed the funeral to attest to their esteem to the venerable lady. We extend sympathy to the bereaved. Missouri state death certificate under the name "Katherine Werchai".
