Obit., 1979 - mid-Missouri newspaper: " John B. Lueckenhoff, 61, Westphalia, died Sunday ( Dec. 16, 1979) at the Harry S. Truman VA Hospital, Columbia following a long illness. He was born Aug. 14, 1918 at St. Elizabeth, the son of Bernard and Gertrude Weidinger Lueckenhoff. He was married Nov. 27, 1945 at Westphalia to Leonilla Johannesmeyer, who survives at the home. Mr. Lueckenhoff was an Air force veteran of World War II. He worked as a farmer and also operated Lueckenhoffs Tavern in Westphalia from 1957 to 1968. Other survivors include: one son, Bernie Lueckenhoff, Westphalia; one step-daughter, Mrs. Dora Massman, Westphalia; one brother, Al Lueckenhoff, Quincy, Ill.; two sisters, Mrs. Ben Kempker, Jefferson City; and Mrs. Theresa Adrian, St. Martins; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A rosary was recited Tuesday at the Dulle Funeral Home, Westphalia. Services were held Wednesday at the St. Josephs Catholic Church, Westphalia, with the Rev. Peter Walsh officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery."
