Obit., mid-Missouri newspaper, 1976: " Louis John Bauer, 93, of St. Louis, died Tuesday, July 10 (1976) at a hospital there following a brief illness. Mr. Bauer was born June 30, 1883, in Osage County, the son of Adam and Anna Pietry Bauer. He was married to the former Miss Catherine Elizabeth Luebbert in February of 1911. She died June 1, 1957. Other survivors include: one son, Charles Bauer, St. Joseph; four daughters, Mrs. Joseph Kovarik, St. Louis; Mrs. Vince Kleffner, Seattle, Wash.; Mrs. Sam Magers, St. Joseph; and Mrs. John Werr, St. Louis Park, Minn.; 23 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Friday at the Guardian angel Catholic church in Brinktown with Rev. Michael McHugh officiating. Burial was in the parish Cemetery."
