    3. Obituary for Elmer F. Green, mid-Missouri newspaper: Miller County Resident Dies in Tuscumbia Elmer F Green, age 84 years, of Route 1, Tuscumbia, Missouri passed away Wednesday, January 9, 1974 at the Charles E Still Hospital in Jefferson City. Mr. Green was born April 24 1889 in Maries County near Van Cleve, Missouri, the son of Elijah and Mary (Orrey) Green. He was united in marriage December 25, 1915 in Hoecker, Missouri by Rev. Joe Barnhart, to Tina Arizona Barton who survives of the home. Mr. Green lived several years in Kansas City, Missouri and Cuba, Missouri where he was employed by Koss Construction Company and Menefle Construction Company. He spent most of his life in the Miller County area where he was a construction worker and a farmer and was a member of the Humphrey's Creek Christian Church. Preceding him in death were: 3 children: Lloyd, age 2 months in June 1926, Mable, age 10 in 1930 and Mrs. Mildred Mitchell, age 27 in 1945; 2 brothers, Willie and Jimmy; 4 sisters, Bertha, Clardy, Lizzie Quinn, Mrs. Lula Wiles and Isabelle Miller and 1 grandson, Douglas Eugene Green at age 7 months on May 14, 1952. Surviving, other than his wife, Tina, are 5 sons: David Green of Tuscumbia, Floyd Green of Meta, Dewey, Donald and Marvin Green, all of Cahokla, Illinois; 2 daughters, Mrs. Joan Gushwa of Colstrip, Montana and Mrs. Marilyn Mauzy of Alton, Illinois; 17 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 12 at the Stevinson Chapel in St. Elizabeth with Rev. Mark Sooter officiating. Interment was in the Capps Cemetery under the direction of the Stevinson Funeral Home of St. Elizabeth. Pallbearers were: Bill Barton, Jim Green, Ray Green, Ralph Wiles, Jasper Wiles and Wilbur Wiles.
