    3. Mid-Missouri newspaper obituary- 1971 Mrs Alexander dies; services held at Iberia Mrs. Annie Alexander, 56, Rte 3, Dixon, died Saturday, March 20, 1971 at her home. Mrs. Alexander was born February 8, 1915 in St. Louis, the daughter of Ralph and Katherine (Carlovich) Mataya. She was married November 14, 1936 in Waterloo, Illinois, to Arthur Traw Alexander, who survives. Mrs. Alexander lived a short time in California before World War II. She moved from the St. Louis area in April of 1967 to Miller County where she spent the rest of her life. Mrs. Alexander was a labeler for medicine and perfume manufacturing. She was a member of the Alder Springs Church of Christ and was baptized by Brother Henry Pickup, Jr., in the summer of 1969. Mrs. Alexander was preceded in death by two brothers, Pete Mataya and Ralph Mataya. Survivors include: her husband, Arthur; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Swain of East St. Louis, Illinois, Mrs. Katie Italion of Ellisville, and Mrs. Rosie McNeely of Ft. Smith, Arkansas; and three brothers, Frank Mataya, Joe Mataya and Emil Mataya, all of St. Louis. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Stevinson Chapel in Iberia with Brother Ira Woodward officiating. Interment was in the Freedom Cemetery near Dixon. Pallbearers were: Phillip Lore, John Lore, Ron Rolfes, Roger Higgins, Vince Italion, and Garland Bell."
