Obit., mid-Missouri newspaper: Raymond Groff, of Belle, Dies March 11, 1971 Raymond Groff, 73, of Belle, died Thursday, March 11 at a Jefferson City hospital. Mr. Groff was born August 2, 1897 in Osage County, the son of Jesse and Elizabeth Roberts Groff. He married the former Miss Amanda Elizabeth Goodman, at St. Louis, April 13, 1920. She survives. Other survivors include: One son, Herbert V. Groff, Baldwin; one brother, Robert Groff, Jennings, and three grandchildren. Mr. Groff was a deacon of the Pilot Knob Baptist Church, an adult class Sunday School teacher, and a board member of the church. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 373, A.M. & F.M., Belle. Masonic service was held at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Jones Funeral Home, Belle. Funeral services were held at the Pilot Knob Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Sunday with Rev. Snodgrass officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
