    3. Obituary, mid-Missouri newspaper, 1967: William Groves of Chamois, Dies William Guy Groves was born at Isabelle Station, Missouri on August 5, 1896, being the son of James L. Groves and the former Mattie Braden. He departed this life at his home near Chamois, Missouri on September 7, 1967 after being ill for some time. At the time of his death, he was 71 years, one month and two days of age. He grew up in the Isabelle Station, Bonnots Mill area. He attended automotive schools in Kansas City, Missouri and Detroit, Michigan. Mr. Groves was in the garage business for a number of years at several locations in Chamois and Linn. In later years he lived in semi-retirement on a farm near Chamois. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I. He was married to Rebecca Kemple on February 19, 1919. Two sons were born from this marriage being Connie J. Groves and Glenn W. Groves. Connie preceded his father in death. Mr. Groves was married to Margaret Bledsoe on January 20, 1942. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Margaret Groves, his son Glenn W. Groves and granddaughters of Fenton, Missouri, two stepsons, Herbert Bledsoe of Linn and Bill Bledsoe of Jefferson City, his brother Walter Groves of Tulsa, Oklahoma, his brother Arthur Groves of Fairland, Oklahoma, a sister Mrs. Nora Jacquin of Jefferson City and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted at the Morton Funeral Home Chapel at Linn at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 10 with the Rev. A. J. Grellner of Chamois officiating. Burial was at the Linn Public Cemetery.
