POST-TRIBUNE, Jefferson City, Missouri, Friday August 29, 1997- Obituary: Frieda Virginia Bax, 70, Jefferson City, died Thursday ( 28 Aug. 1997) at St. Mary's Health Center. She was born May 12, 1927 in Jefferson City, a daughter of William C. and Nellie Jane Tucker Woodland. She was married April 12, 1947 in Jefferson city to Edward John Bax, who survives at the home. She attended Jefferson City Public schools. A homemaker, she was employed at Tweedies Footwear Corp. and Gerbes Family Shopping Center until her retirement. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. Other survivors include: one son, James R. Bax of Kearney; one daughter, Beverly Jo Gefrath of Jefferson City; 2 brothers, Jewell Woodland of Jefferson City and Paul Woodland of Loveland, CO; 2 sisters, Allene Libbert of St. Martins, and Peg Weber of Jefferson City; 5 grandchildren,three step grandchildren; and one step great grandchild. One son, William Edward Bax, died in November 1979. Services will be at 10 am Saturday at Immaculate Conception church. burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Memorial are suggested to the American Lung Association or Hospice of Jefferson City and Mid Missouri."
