Obituary, Unterrified Democrat, Missouri, 1976 "JOSEPH SCHMITZ DIES IN COLORADO "Joseph T. Schmitz, 488 Empire, Aurora, Colorado, died on Sept. 2, 1976 of a heart attack. he was born at Argyle in November of 1928, the son of Joseph H. and Mary Bax Schmitz. He was married Oct. 13, 1951, at Visitation Catholic Church in Vienna to Angela Weidinger, who survives. Also surviving is one daughter, Carol Ann Schmitz; and two sons, Roger Joseph and Allan Joseph, all of the home; two sisters, Mrs. Horace (Caroline) Francis of California and Margaret Nevells of Pontiac, Michigan; two brothers, Mathias Schmitz of St. Louis and Robert Schmitz of California. He was the son-in-law of Mrs. Helen Weidinger. He received his education at St. Louis University and served four years in the Air Corps during World War II. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Elks club. Funeral services were held in Aurora Sept. 6th from St. Theresa's Church."
