Obit., mid-Missouri newspaper, 1972 : Matt Brester, 80, Dies in Hospital, March 10, 1972 "Matt J. Brester, 80, of Folk, died Friday afternoon at a Jefferson City hospital. Mr. Brester, a retired farmer, had been in ill health for the past two years. Mr. Brester was born September 20, 1891 at Westphalia, the son of John and Antonia Rotter Brester. He was never married. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Folk. Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Anna Kaupp, West Point, Nebraska and Mrs. Arthur Cassmeyer, Folk. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Folk with the Rev. Hugh Behan officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery."
