Obituary, mid-Missouri newspaper, 1973 Wilburn Green, 79 Dies in Clayton Wilburn Green, 79, of Tavern Rte, Dixon, Missouri, passed away Thursday July 5, 1973 at the Clayton House Nursing Home in Clayton, Missouri. Mr. Green was born August 13, 1893, near Iberia, Missouri in Miller County, the son of Fletcher and Ellen Carter Green. He was united in marriage on October 9, 1916, in Meta to Charlsie Edith Pendleton who survives of the home. Mr. Green lived in Maries County near Meta and Dixon for most of his life except for 7 years when at 14 his family moved to Texas and 3 years when he lived in Jefferson City. He had been a meat cutter while in Texas and spent the rest of his life farming. Mr. Green had been a member of the Campground Christian Church since 1917. He was preceded in death by: One brother, Charley Green, and three sisters, Mrs. Pearl Ellis, Mrs. Sarah Mace, and Mrs Hester Beechum. Surviving other than his wife, Charlsie, are: One son, Frank D. Green, High Ridge, Missouri; one granddaughter, Linda Green; two sisters, Mrs. Maggie Pendleton, Dixon, Missouri and Mrs. Minnie Tomlin, St. Louis. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Campground Christian Church with Reverend Earl Jones and Brother Walter Abbett officiating. Interment was in the Stokes Cemetery under the direction of the Stevinson Funeral Home of Iberia, Missouri. Pallbearers were Ricky Duncon, Robby Pendleton, Val Faby Anic, John Krone, Sammy Adkins, Dennis Adkins, and Mike Seaton."
