    3. The following is the obituary of Henry Rehagen from THE META HERALD, (1-3), Jan. 24, 1935, Meta, Missouri: DEATH OF MR. HENRY REHAGEN The death of Mr. Henry Rehagen removed one of the pioneer citizens of Osage County as he had spent practically all of his life in this county. Despite his advanced age of 85 years, he was still active and enjoyed good health and was only ill one day before his death. He passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. George Huhmann and husband with whom he had made his home the past nineteen years. He was a man loved and respected by all and a faithful member of St. Cecelia church and died firm in his faith. Henry Rehagen, son of John and Angeline Rehagen, was born at Kries, Becin, Westfalen, Germany on January 14, 1850 and died at Meta, Missouri, on January 19, 1935, age 85 years and 5 days. Death was due to senility. Mr. Rehagen was two years of age when his parents emigrated to the United States and the located on a farm on the Little Maries in the Folk-Westphalia community where they resided the rest of their life, except for a short time they lived in Miller County. Mr. Rehagen was married to Miss Mary Schaller (sp??), of Osage County and they made their home on a farm near Rich Fountain for about twenty-five years at which place Mrs. Rehagen died. To this union were born thirteen children, eight of whom are living, namely: John of Meta, Conrad; Herman of Freeburg; Ben of Westphalia; Mrs. Angela Bax of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Mrs. Mary Huhmann of Meta; Mrs. Francis Bax of Vigus, Missouri., and Mrs. Rosa Krieg of Rich Fountain. All of the children were present at the death, and funeral except Mrs. Angela Bax and Conrad. His wife and five children, Henry, Mary G., Joseph, Katherine and Frank preceded him in death. Mr. Rehagen was later married to Mrs. Mary Evers, nee Williams, of Folk and they resided on a farm near that place until Mrs. Rehagen's death in 1908. In 1909, Mr. Rehagen and two daughters, Mary and Katherine, moved to Meta. No children were born to this marriage. Besides his children, Mr. Rehagen is survived by 29 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, one brother, Herman of St. Elizabeth; one sister, Mrs. Minnie Heimann of St. Elizabeth and one half-sister, Mrs. Mary Schulte of Brinktown, also a host of sorrowing relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at St. Cecelia Church on Monday, January 21, at 9 a.m., with Requiem High Mass by Rev. Father A. J. Hoegen and burial was in the Catholic Cemetery with funeral arrangements in charge of H. H. Strop, local undertaker. Pallbearers were his grandsons: Clements, Henry and Raymond Rehagen, Alphonse and Antone Krieg and Sylvester Bax.
