Obit., Unterrified Democrat, Wed., Aug. 15, 1984: " Anna Marie Gerling dies Aug. 11 Anna Marie Gerling, 90, St. Thomas, died Saturday, August 11 (1984) at a Jefferson City nursing home. Mrs. Gerling was born Dec. 12, 1893 at St. Thomas, a daughter of Stephen and Margaret Saneke Muehlenkamp. She was married Nov. 17, 1914, at St. Thomas, to John A. Gerling, who died Feb. 9, 1968. She was a life-long resident of St. Thomas and a member of the St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and the St. Ann Sodality. Survivors include: three daughters, Mrs. Rufina Boessen, St. Thomas; Mrs. Rita Bax, St. Elizabeth; and Sister Mary Elise, O'Fallen; one son, John S. Gerling, Kansas City; 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Services were held Tuesday at the St. Thomas Catholic Church with the Rev. Michael Wilbers officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery."
