Obit., mid-Missouri newspaper, 1976: " Former Linn Resident of New Mexico Dies" " Arthur Balkenbush, 61, of Las Cruces, New Mexico, died Wednesday, Sept. 8, (1976) at El Paso, Texas. He was born Dec. 13, 1914, at Linn, the son of Antone and Etta Duncan Balkenbush. He was married in Loose Creek to Katherine Ruettgers, who survives at the home. Mr. Balkenbush was raised in Linn and attended elementary and high school here. He moved to New Mexico about 10 years ago. Other survivors include: three sons, Donald Balkenbush, Gill Air force Base, Utah; James Balkenbush, Gallup, N. M.; and Bill Balkenbush, Las Cruces, N. M.; one sister, Mrs. Marie Smith, Topeka, Kan.; and one grandson. Graveside services were held Saturday at the Linn Cemetery under the direction of Morton Funeral Home. The Rev. W. T. Froggate officiated."
