Obit,. mid-Missouri newspaper - 1973: Miss Caroline Bernadine Bernsmeyer, 76, of St. Thomas, Mo., died Thursday, (August 24, 1973) at a Rolla Nursing Home following a long illness. She was born Sept. 29, 1896 at St. Thomas, Mo., a daughter of Gerhard and Anna Fennewald Bernsmeyer. She was a member of the St. Thomas Catholic Church in St. Thomas, Mo.. She was educated in parochial schools and lived in St. Thomas most of her life. Survivors include a brother, Alphonse Bernsmeyer of St. Thomas; two sisters - Mrs. Mary Strope of 406 Union St.; and Miss Emma Bernsmeyer of St. Thomas. Burial was in St. Thomas Cemetery, St. Thomas, Mo. A wake service will be held this evening at the Buescher Chapel at St. Thomas. Funeral services will be Saturday at the St. Thomas Catholic church with the Rev. James Offutt officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery."
