    3. Obit., Mid-Missouri newspaper 1980: " Mrs. Elizabeth C. Bornhoft, 84, of Fleming, died recently at a Sterling Hospital. Mrs. Bornhoft was born March 21, 1896, in Linn, the daughter of Henry and Christine Nilges Hundepohl. She married John Bornhoft on Feb. 28, 1922 in Linn and the couple homesteaded in the Snyder area. In 1937, she and her husband moved to Fleming where the farmed and were living. She is survived by her husband, John Bornhoft; six sons, Leonard Bornhoft of Rose Hill, Kans.; Norbert Bornhoft of Holyoke; Dennis Bornhoft of Haxtun; Henry Bornhoft, Paul Bornhoft and Thomas Bornhoft, all of Fleming; three daughters, Mrs. Frances Boerner of Holyoke; Mrs. Ester Schaefer of Fleming; Mrs. Mary Wernsman of Fleming; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Lock of Sterling and Mrs. Catherine Bornhoft of Merino; one brother, Joe Hundepohl of Colorado Springs; 47 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Services were held at St. Peters Catholic Church with Father Robert Breunig officiating."
