Obit., mid-Missouri newspaper, 1974: " Larry Delaney Bacon, 83, Marshall, Mo., died Tuesday, April 9, 1974 at Fitzgibbon Hospital, Marshall. Funeral services were held Friday in Campbell-Lewis Chapel with Rev. Troy Slagle officiating. Military services and burial was in Ridge Park Cemetery. Mr. Bacon was born in Linn on December 12, 1890, the son of Joseph Taylor Bacon and Jolcy Glover Bacon. He was married April 1, 1920, in Marshall to Louis (e sp?) Williams, who preceded him in death on March 10, 1956. He had lived in Marshall 42 years and was a veteran of World War I. Surviving are ten children; Mrs. Ruth Myers, St. Louis; Mrs. Betty Drake, Mrs. Jolcy Riley, Mrs. Jewell Smith, Mrs. Nora Brame, and John Bacon, all of Marshall; Mrs. Lucille Utlaut, Malta Bend; Mrs. Fern Vogel, Gladstone, Mrs. Linda Harper, Columbia; Mrs. Wilma Jones, Sweet Springs; 24 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, and one sister, Pauline Laughlin, Jefferson City."
