Obit., mid-Missouri newspaper, 1974: "Mrs. Rena P. Balkenbush, 49, of Linn, died Wednesday morning (January 30, 1974) at a Jefferson City hospital. A native of Newberry Court, Mass., Mrs. Balkenbush was born July 15, 1924, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Groom. On June 24, 1970, Amarillo, Tex., she was married to Everett Balkenbush, who survives. Other survivors include: one daughter, Mrs. Lavola Lagge, Pitt City, Calif; one grandson; and her mother, Mrs. Rufus Groom of the state of Arkansas. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at the Morton Chapel, Linn, with the Rev. Ed Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in the St. George Catholic Cemetery, Linn."
