According to the Osage County Coroner Clyde Morton, the young man and his father, John Boessen, were cultivating corn on the island north of Osage City. Pat was refueling the diesel engine following lunch, when it somehow went into gear, throwing him to the ground and moved over his body. An ambulance was summoned immediately on C. B. radio by an electric crew at work near the scene of the accident but the young man died instantly. His father was treated for shock at the hospital and released several hours later. > The mishap occurred at approximately 1 p.m.. Adding to the tragedy of the even was the fact the Boessen was married only 12 days before to Miss Christy Saucier at the Taos Catholic Church. They had built a new home near Loose Creek. > Mr. Boessen was born may 26, 1954 in Jefferson City, the son of John P. and Melba Davis Boessen. Both survive. He was married may 15, 1976 at Taos to Miss Christy Saucier, who survives of the home. > Other survivors include; four brothers, Michael Boessen, Kenneth Boessen, John Boessen, Jr., and Christian Boessen, all of Loose Creek; and four sisters, Mrs. Linda Ricks, Macon; Miss Carolyn Boessen and Miss Kathleen Boessen, both of Jefferson City; and Miss Melody Boessen of Loose Creek. > Mr. Boessen was a graduate of Immaculate Conception grade school in Loose Creek, a 1972 graduate of Fatima High School, Westphalia; and a graduate of Bailey Tech College, St. Louis. > He was a member of the Holy Name Society of the Immaculate Conception Church, loose Creek, and a member of the Loose Creek Community Park Association. He was secretary of the Osage Baseball League and also managed the Loose Creek baseball team. He was past president of the Loose Creek CYO. > Funeral services were held Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Loose Creek, where he was a member. The Rev. Kevin Gormley officiated.
