Obit., mid-Missouri newspaper, 1994: "James H. Bruns, 60, Kansas City, Mo., died Friday at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas. He was born Nov. 25, 1933, in Taos, a son of Otto A. and Flora E. Schnieders Bruns. He never married. He was a Catholic. He served with the United States Army from 1955 - 1957. He worked for the American Optical co., moving to Kansas City in 1983, where he worked as an optician at the KU Medical Center. Survivors include: one brother, Louis Bruns, St. Charles; and one sister, Virginia Stegeman, Kansas City. Services will be Wednesday at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Taos, with the Rev. Kevin Ciohessy officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at the Dulle Funeral Home on Tuesday. Memorial masses or contributions to the charity of one's choice are suggested."
