    3. Obit., 1977 - mid-Missouri newspaper "Lawrence Barnhart, 75, Meta, died Wed., Feb. 16, (1977) at a Jefferson City hospital. He was born June 14, 1901 near Van Cleve, the son of Harmon and Hestella Pendleton Barnhart. He was married Mar. 10. 1921 to Irena Woody, who survives. A retired farmer and stockman, Mr. Barnhart was a member of the Campground Christian Church near Meta and served on the church council for man years. He had also been employed at Ft. Leonard Wood and at the Missouri State Penitentiary. Other survivors include; one son, Wayne Barnhart, Waynesville; one brother, Euel Barnhart, Troy; one sister, Mrs. Laura McKee, Dixon; 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday at the Campground Christian Church near Meta. The Rev. Earl Jones and the Rev. Wayne Bogue officiated. Burial was in the Pendleton Cemetery near Meta with Stevinson Funeral Home, Meta in charge of arrangements. Pall bearers were John Vearch, Greg Barnhart, Rodney Barnhart, David Barnhart, Dr. Howard Neeley and Orville Pendleton. Honorary pallbearer was Tommy Barnhart."
