Obit., mid-Missouri newspaper, 1977: " Nelson H. Boes, 60, of Jefferson City, died unexpectedly Tuesday morning, July 5, (1977) at a hospital there. A native of Osage County, Mr. Boes was born April 8, 1917, the son of George and Anna Oidtman Boes. On Oct. 15, 192, at Mexico, he was married to the former Miss Opel Pemberton, who survives. A well-known Jefferson City realtor, Mr. Boes served on several board of realtor committees and served as multiple listing chairman in 1973. He was honored as Realtor of the Year in Jefferson City in 1973. Mr. Boes was a member of St. Joseph Cathedral, a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Dan C. Copin General Assembly, and Helias Council No. 54, Knights of Columbus. He was also a 28-year member of the Jefferson City Lions Club. Other survivors include: one son, Edward Boes, Holts Summit; four daughters, Mrs. Judy Shirley and Mrs. Joan Lindsey, both of Jefferson City; Mrs. Debra Kaiser, Midland, Mich.; and Miss Laura Boes of the home. One brother, William Boes; two sisters, Mrs. Norman Kraus and Mrs. Catherine Stokes, all of Jefferson City; and three grandchildren. The funeral was conducted Thursday at St. Josephs Cathedral with a concelebrated mass. Burial was in the Resurrection Cemetery."
