Obit., mid-Missouri newspaper - 1970: "Mrs. Eulalia Jane Curtiss, 77, of Linn, died Sunday morning (Dec. 1970) at her home. Mrs. Curtiss was born Nov. 1, 1893 at Belleville, Kans., the daughter of Alphues and Amilia Becker Haines. She was married Oct. 16, 1916 at Kansas City to Allan A. Curtiss, who survives. Mrs. Curtiss and her husband have operated the Home Furnishing Co, Linn, for more than 15 years. A Linn resident for 35 years, she was active in the St. John's Methodist Church and was a charter member of Women's Society of Christian Service. Mrs. Curtiss also was a charter member of the Linn Chapter of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and a Gold Star Mother. Other survivors include: a daughter, Mrs. Harold Starr, Linn; a brother, George Haines, Sunnydale, Calif.; two sisters, Miss Edna Haines, Kansas City, and Mrs. Ether Moree, Belleville, Kansas; and three grandchildren. One son, Allen, Jr. preceded his mother in death. he was killed serving his country in World War II. Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 22, (1970) at St. John's Methodist Church, Linn, with the Rev. Glenn Mangam officiating. VFW Auxiliary services were held at the Morton Chapel Monday. Burial was in Linn Public Cemetery."
