    3. Mary- When the Balkenbusch family went beyond Anton somebody dropped the 'c' from the last name and subsequently there were/are a bunch out there lacking the 'c' in Balkenbusch. Though I am not one to pass judgment I think it's more stately with the 'c' retained- but, it is a long last name subject to all kinds of confusion! So both are correct depending on which side of the family you are looking at. Skip -- Howard M.
