Obit., Mid-Missouri newspaper, 1970: "Joseph E. Evers, one of the best known craftsmen in Osage County, died at his home in Westphalia May 11, 1947. Mr. Evers was 77 years of age, having been born on March 19, 1870 at Koeltztown. He was a son of George and Mary Williams Evers. Mr. Evers is survived by his wife, the former Adelaide Holtmeyer to whom he was married 53 years ago and to this union were born 3 children."
