Obit., mid-Missouri newspaper, 1974 ; " Mrs. Frances A. Houston, 59 of Freeburg, died Feb. 24th (1974) at a Columbia hospital. Mrs. Houston was born April 29, 1915 at Freeburg, the daughter of Gerhard and Anne Pohl Welschmeyer. She was married Nov. 23, 1939 to Martin Houston, who survives. Other survivors include: one son, George Houston, Des Moines, Iowa; one daughter, Sister Marie Denice, Freeburg; four brothers: Frank Welschmeyer, James Welschmeyer, John Welschmeyer and Martin Welschmeyer, all of Freeburg; six sisters: Mrs. Cardilla Ellison, Troy; Sister M. Gerarda, Marthasville; Mrs. Safey Svezia, Kirkwood; Mrs. Gen Lewis, Mrs. Marie Billet and Miss Rita Welschmeyer, all of St. Louis; and one grandchild. Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 27th at the Holy Family Catholic Church, Freeburg, with the Rev. Donald Greene officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home of Vienna."
