Obit., mid-Missouri newspaper, 1974: " Mrs. Norma Lee Helmig, 21, of Linn was killed in a one-car accident early Sunday morning, (October 13, 1974) two miles west of Linn on H'way 50. Injured in the wreck was her husband, Robert Helmig, only other passenger in the car. Mrs. Helmig was born Dec. 17, 1952 at Jefferson City, the daughter of Norman E. and Mary Ruth Voss Pointer, who survive at Linn. On July 18, 1970, at Linn, she was married to Robert (Spike) Helmig, who survives at the home. She was graduated from Linn High School and was employed with the Missouri Department of Revenue. Other survivors include: one son, Andy Wayne Helmig of the home; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Clara Pointer, Linn; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Voss, Linn; Five brothers, Bernard J. Pointer, Columbia; Gary D.; Steven P., Harry E., and Timothy G. Pointer, all of Linn; and two sisters, Miss Jeri Lynn and Miss Lori Ann Pointer, both of Linn. Funeral services were Wednesday at the R.L.D. S. Church, Linn, with the Rev. Bill Cardwell officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Morton Funeral Home, Linn was in charge of arrangements."
