Obit., mid-Missouri newspaper, 1966: "Edna Irene Cox, wife of Oland Cox, passed away February 5, 1966. she was admitted to the hospital Nov. 11 and remained a hospital patient until claimed by death. She had made many friends in Osage County during her visits here. She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband Oland, two sisters, nieces and nephews and a host of friends. The floral tributes showed the high esteem in which she was held. Rev. B. R. Cummins of the First Methodist Church delivered a very fitting sermon. The funeral was at Coulterville, Ill. Feb. 7. Attending from Osage County were: Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Morton, Tillie Miller, Francis Ford and Mrs. Gus Hartwig. Several visited at the Funeral Home on Sunday."
