Obit., mid-Missouri newspaper, 1971: " Peter Dudenhoeffer, 72, a retired farmer and stock raiser of Freeburg, died Saturday ( May 1, 1971) at Jefferson City hospital where he had been a patient for several days. A native of Frankenstein, Mr. Dudenhoeffer was born Nov. 13, 1898, the son of Joseph and Mary Koenigsfeld Dudenhoeffer. On Oct. 5, 1921, at Linn, he was married to the former Miss Margaret Rinkemeyer (sp?), who survives. Other survivors include: four sons, Ignatius (Bud) Dudenhoeffer, Jefferson City; and Raymond Dudenhoeffer, Philip Dudenhoeffer, and Huber (sp?) Dudenhoeffer, all of Freeburg; one daughter, Mrs. Norbert Frank, Wardsville; Five brothers, Paul Dudenhoeffer, Frankenstein; August Dudenhoeffer, Chamois; and Hubert Dudenhoeffer, Isadore Dudenhoeffer and Aloysius Dudenhoeffer, all of Frankenstein. Four sisters, Sister Cupertina, Milwaukee, Wis.; and Mrs. Regina Troesser, Mrs. Barbara Thoenen and Mrs. Mary Jaegers, all of Frankenstein. Twenty grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral arrangements under the direction of the Morton Funeral Home, Linn, are incomplete."
