Obit., mid-Missouri newspaper, 1968: " Mrs. Eva Lydia Davis, 54, of Jefferson City, died Monday, July 29, 1968, at a Jefferson City hospital. Mrs. Davis was born Dec. 1, 1913, at Chamois, to W. T. and Eva Ferguson Witthaus. On July 27, 1940, at Tipton, she was married to William C. Davis, who survives. Survivors include: two sisters, Mrs. Irene Wollenberg, Jefferson City; and Miss Leonora Witthaus, St. Louis; three brothers, Warren Witthaus, state of California; Ervin Witthaus, Steedman and Marvin Witthaus, Chamois. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday in the Tanner Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Robert Hermann. Burial was in the Mokane Cemetery, Mokane."
