Obit., mid-Missouri newspaper, 1924: " Mrs. Ada R. Herndon, widow of the late William Herndon and a daughter of Capt. J. C. Dessieux, died last Friday ( December 1924) at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lloyd Parker in Rolla, Mo., aged 70 years. Paralysis was the cause of her death. The remains of the deceased were laid to rest in the Linn Cemetery. Rev. Robertson officiating. Mrs. Herndon is survived by 3 sons, Claude, Robert and Charles Herndon, and three daughters, Mrs. Lloyd Parker, Mrs. Ed Allen and Mrs. Allen Weeks. Mrs. Herndon resided in and near Linn the greater part of her long and useful life."
