Obit., mid-Missouri newspaper, 1977: " Richard G. Deppe, 57, of Morrison, died Thursday morning, Feb. 10, (1977) at the Hermann Area District Hospital. He was born Jan. 13, 1920 at Pershing, the son of Samuel and Amanda Lang Deppe. His mother, Mrs. Amanda Roewe, Morrison, survives. On May 23, 1970, he was married in Kansas City to Mildred L. Johnson, who also survives. Mr. Deppe was a well-known blind guitarist in the Morrison area. He also was a retired farmer and stockman. He was a member of the Gasconade Pentecostal Church at Gasconade. Other survivors include two sons, Kenneth S. Deppe, U. S. Army, Germany; and David R. Deppe of the home Services were held Sunday at the Gasconade Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Alvin Wulff officiating. Burial was in the Pershing Cemetery near Morrison."
