Obit., mid-Missouri newspaper - 1967: " William Herbert Evans, 63, a highly respected and lifelong resident of the Linn community died Sunday, June 11, 1967 at a Jefferson City Hospital. Mr. Evans was born near Linn July 10, 1903, the son of William L. and Louise Katherine Findley Evans. He was married to the former Miss Ethel Farrell at Tuscumbia on March 4, 1922. She survives. Other survivors include an only daughter, Mary Lou, Mrs. Elmer Helmig of Otterville; five grandsons, Gene, Mike, Dale, Rich and Bert Helmig; three sisters, Mrs. Siegel Lockwood and Mrs. Reed Monroe, Linn and Mrs. Nellie Campbell, Jefferson City. He was a member of the St. John's Methodist Church in Linn. Funeral services were at the Lane Community Church near Linn Tuesday, June 13, with Rev. Wayne C. Kidwell officiating. Burial was at the Linn Public Cemetery. Pallbearers who served were: Eugene Monroe, Charles Monroe, Nelson Cavender, Earl Campbell, Howard Lansford and Harold Lansford."
