Obit., mid-Missouri newspaper, 1976: " Howard E. Groves, 75, Jefferson City, died at his home, Tuesday, June 29, 1976. He was born Nov. 13, 1900, at Bonnots Mill, the son of Rodney and Jeannie LeCure Groves. On Feb. 19, 1919, he was married to Flora Ida Kemple, who survives at the home. He has worked for the Mo. Pacific Railroad for 25 years before retiring in 1965. He had lived in Frankenstein prior to moving to Jefferson City. Other survivors include: one son, Howard J. Groves, Rt. 3, Jefferson City; three daughters, Mrs. Laverne Vogel, LaPorte, Ind.; Mrs. Esther Kliethermes and Mrs. Anna Mae Sullins, both of Jefferson City. Two sisters, Mrs. Lora Taber, St. Louis; and Mrs. Bertha Stubblefield, Jefferson City; 13 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Thursday at Buscher Memorial Home with Rev. L. Dale officiating. Burial was in Linn Memorial Park with Mortons Service in charge."
