Obit., mid-Missouri newspaper, 1945: " Henry J. Horstdaniel, former Westphalia resident, died at his home at St. Ann's Village Sunday, March 4, 1945. He was born at Westphalia Nov. 18, 1867, the son of Frank and Gertrude Plassmeyer Horstdaniel. At the time of his death, he was 76 years, 3 months and 14 days of age. He was united in marriage to Miss Josephine Westermann on July 4, 1898 at Westphalia and to them were born two sons and six daughters, all surviving; Edmund, Lee, Theo., Della, Rita Horstdaniel; Mrs. Florence Baker, Mrs. Amanda Luebbert, and Mrs. Etta Alkins."
