Obit., mid-Missouri newspaper, 1974" August Haslag, 82, Frankenstein, died early this morning (Feb. 11, 1974) at Charles E. Still Hospital. Mr. Haslag was born Dec. 6, 1891 at Loose Creek, a son of Herman and Mary Mertens Haslag. He was married Nov. 1913 at Frankenstein to the former Miss Gertrude Stiefermann, who survives at the home. Educated in the parish schools of Loose Creek, Mr. Haslag was a retired farmer and stock raiser. He was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Help Catholic Church at Frankenstein and the Holy Name Society of that church. Mr. Haslag was active in Frankenstein community affairs. Other survivors include: two son, Sylvester F. Haslag, Frankenstein; and Rafel A. Haslag, Linn; a daughter, Mrs. Cyrus Doerweiler, Linn; two brothers, Edward Haslag and Conrad Haslag, both of Linn; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The rosary will be prayed Tuesday at the Morning Chapel, Linn. Funeral services will be Wednesday at Our lady of help Catholic Church at Frankenstein with the Rev. Joseph Lorenz officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Gethsemane Cemetery at Frankenstein."
